Do you know of an Old Marlburian who has gone above and beyond to help their local community or society at large? Maybe they set up a food back or helped refugees settle in their new environment? Maybe they were involved in supporting threatened/displaced communities; reducing environmental damage or improving the health and welfare of people or wildlife? Maybe you know an Old Marlburian who has been unwell but used their situation to make a difference to others in similar situations?
This year, the Club is launching a new initiative called the Old Marlburian of the Year award – an award that recognises and celebrates the contribution an Old Marlburian has made to society, in line with the Marlborough’s values of Community, Ambition, Service and Initiative.
We know that many Old Marlburians make a real difference across the globe in a variety of ways. The Club is looking to recognise one person who has unselfishly and generously contributed their time, and talents or displayed courage, bravery or resilience in the face of adversity during the past twelve months. This activity should have enriched or inspired others and could be a voluntary or humanitarian act, undertaken on their own or as part of a voluntary organisation.
If you know of any such Marlburian, please nominate them for this award. The result will be announced as part of the Club’s Annual General Meeting, to be held this October. To be considered, those nominated should demonstrate a clear and positive impact that has occurred as a direct result of their engagement and commitment and examples of this impact provided along with the nomination.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 28th July 2023.
