Award-winning broadcaster and producer Lewis Borg-Cardona (BH 1973-77) is set to return to the BBC World Service on 1 September with a compelling new radio documentary exploring the enduring legacy of one of popular music’s most influential bands.

Part of the acclaimed In The Studio arts strand, Steve Levine: Revisiting The Beach Boys follows Grammy Award-winning British record producer Steve Levine as he revisits and remixes his 1985 album The Beach Boys. Along the way, Levine reflects on the original recording sessions, sharing memories and insights alongside notable contributors, including Beach Boys members Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston.

Written, produced and presented by Borg-Cardona, the programme offers listeners a rare behind-the-scenes look at both the creative process and the lasting impact of The Beach Boys’ music. Following its broadcast, the documentary will be available on BBC Sounds, accompanied by a dedicated podcast featuring additional content and discussion.

The new programme follows another highly successful BBC World Service production for Borg-Cardona. His 2025 documentary, Paul McCartney: Beatles and Beyond, received international recognition at this year’s New York Festivals Radio Awards, earning a Gold Tower Award in the Biography/Profiles category and a Silver Tower Award in the Sound category.
