Michael Elwyn (B3 1956-61) makes his Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) debut playing the role of the loyal and elderly servant, Firs, in the sold out production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard adapted by Laura Wade. Directed by Tamara Harvey, the cast includes Kenneth Branagh as Lopakhin, Helen Hunt as Ranyevskaya and Bill Pullman as Gaev. The production opened on 10 July at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon.
