Tommy Watson (C1 2021–23) joined Marlborough in 2021 as a Music Scholar, where he quickly connected with Will Moore (C3 2018–23) through their shared passion for A Level Music Technology. Their musical chemistry was immediate. Soon after, Tommy formed a band as part of his EPQ project, bringing together his former school friends from St John’s—Sam and James—along with Will, to create the band JVNO.

Over the following two years, JVNO regularly performed at school rock and pop concerts, often alongside a variety of guest musicians. Tommy and Will also collaborated extensively outside the band, performing in the pit orchestra for the school’s production of Godspell and playing together in both the school’s Big Band and Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond school, JVNO’s ambitions took flight. They began gigging in London with Henry Dukes (BH 2017–22), and their current quartet lineup made its debut at the local Manton Fest. Their growing momentum led to a major milestone: opening for French pop star Kendji Girac at the Monaco Arena.

In 2025, JVNO released their debut album, Nothing Strange, which was entirely self-produced, mixed, and mastered by the band. They’ve continued to build their reputation on the live circuit, most recently selling out the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club in Monaco.
