Mayoor Patel (PR 1973-77) wins OM of the Year Award

It was announced at the Marlburian Club’s virtual AGM, that Mayoor Patel (PR 1973-77) was the winner of this year’s OM of the Year Award due to his dedication to the empowerment of poor and disadvantaged children.

Co-founder of Polio and Children in Need, Mayoor is convinced that polio only makes one differently able rather than disabled and has made it his personal mission to spread the message. He works closely with several NGOs in the UK and in India that are devoted to the welfare of underprivileged and handicapped children.

This recognition is not Mayoor’s first award for meritorious conduct. In 2015, he was awarded the Points of Light by then Prime Minister David Cameron and, in 2016, he won the British Citizen Award for international achievement.
