Fred again’s chart-topping success:
Fred again, otherwise known as Fred Gibson (B1 2006-11), has been a prominent figure in the music industry with one of his most recent successes including closing Coachella alongside Skrillex and Four Set to almost 100,000 fans.
Fred’s first introduction to the music industry began at the age of 16 when introduced to Brian Eno who mentored him and focussed on his production skills. This resulted in working on albums in the next coming years with Charlie XCX and Ellie Goulding. By 2018, he had produced songs for Little Mix, Shawn Mendes and Burna Boy as well as George Ezra’s Shotgun.
During the pandemic, Fred again began to make in his own right as an electronic musician with his first two large-scale projects being albums Actual Life and Actual Life 2. This led to his Boiler Room sets in London in July 2022 where he was seen to be one of the most exciting artists in the genre.
Moving swiftly from performing to 100,000 people at Coachella in April, Fred moved to a much more low-profile venue in a community centre on the Isle of Harris to only 200 people. This was the end of a three-show tour around the Hebrides. The rest of the year Fred continues to tour through Europe and America, performing at Glastonbury along the way.
