Hayden Phillips has published his memoir Boy On A Bicycle

Former Member of Council Hayden Phillips has published his memoir which is a treasure trove of raw material for historians and a must-read for anyone interested in politics and the exercise of power.

After Cambridge and Yale (where he sang in a Russian choir), he became a civil servant, working in a number of departments, including Immigration, the Cabinet Office, and the Treasury and Culture. He was instrumental in the creation of the National Lottery. Since his retirement, he has farmed in Wiltshire, been Chairman of the National Theatre, worked for the Prince of Wales’s charities Trust — and has appeared as Spectre Agent No 4 in the James Bond film No Time to Die.
