The 126th Marlburian Club AGM will take place via Zoom on Monday 31st October at 7.00pm.

The agenda and timings for the evening are listed below. Following the AGM itself, there will be a fascinating talk from the first recipient of the newly launched ‘OM of the Year’ award. This annual award aims to highlight and recognise those OMs who have had a positive impact on society and exemplify Marlborough College’s values of community, service, ambition and initiative. The talk will be focused on the work and experiences of the recipient which led to them being awarded OM of the Year.

- To elect the President, Harriett Baldwin (LI 1975-77)
Harriett Baldwin was Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State at the Department for International Development from 9 January 2018 to 25 July 2019. She was elected as the MP for West Worcestershire in May 2010, where she has lived since 2006.
Harriett was appointed to become the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Russia before joining the government in February 2014 as Assistant Government Whip. She was promoted to Lord Commissioner in July 2014 and served in that post until May 2015. Harriett served as Economic Secretary to the Treasury (City Minister) from May 2015 until July 2016. She then served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Defence Procurement at the Ministry of Defence from July 2016 to January 2018.
Following her re-election in 2019, Harriett joined the Treasury Select Committee and she also chairs the British Group Inter-Parliamentary Union, co-chairs the International Parliamentary Network for Education and in 2020, she re-joined the UK delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Harriett enjoyed a successful 20-year career in finance, specialising in currency markets for pension funds. She was also on the National Council of Business for Sterling.

Chris was Chair of the Marlburian Club between 2014 and 2020 and instrumental in the development of the Professional Groups.
CEO/CFO and Founder of C Squared, a developer and operator of Retirement Villages with care. A former Royal Marines Officer, with 21 years’ experience at Credit Suisse, predominantly in Equity Research, but latterly as CFO of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Chris won the Sword of Honour as the most outstanding Royal Marines Officer in training, specialised in Mountain and Arctic warfare and completed two operational tours of Belfast and Iraq.
At Credit Suisse, he ran the top-ranked Capital Goods research team (Aerospace, Engineering and Automotive companies) and then ran the US Equity Research department in New York, before returning to head the European Research business. He then managed the European Cash Equity business with revenues of $1bn and finished his time at CS as CFO of Europe, Middle East and Africa, managing a balance sheet of close to $1tr.
