Marlburian Monday – Lebby Eyres (C2 1987-89) ‘My Oar-Some Adventure: Rowing Across the Atlantic’

We are delighted to announce that Marlburian Mondays are back!

The first Marlburian Monday talk of this academic year, entitled ‘My Oar-Some Adventure: Rowing Across the Atlantic’ will be given by Lebby Eyres (C2 1987-89) at 8pm on Monday 12th September.

Lebby recently rowed across the Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Her crew of midlife mums – named The Mothership – finished the race in 40 days, 11 hours and 25 minutes, beating some of the men’s crews and all of the mixed fours. As well as explaining what crossing an ocean entails – from shift patterns to personal hygiene – and the challenges involved, Lebby will discuss what she learned in those 40 days and how she is applying those lessons in everyday life.

To join us for this talk, you will need to make sure you have signed up to Zoom and then, on the night, follow the link in the email we sent you. If you have not received the link, please email us here to request it.
