Hugh Pym (C1 1973 – 77) and Chris Hopson (B1 1976 – 81) featured on Radio 4

Hugh Pym (C1 1973 – 77) and Chris Hopson (B1 1976 – 81) featured on Radio 4 this morning. They spoke about the pressures facing the NHS this winter and the challenges of staff shortages.

Hugh is the BBC’s health editor reporting on politics, economics, public spending, and NHS finance. Chris joined NHS Providers as Chief Executive in September 2012 after a career in politics, commercial television, and the civil service.

In November 2020, Hugh and Chris delivered a talk for the Marlburian Monday series titled: Covid-19; Lessons Learned So Far. They brought interesting perspectives on how the government, NHS national leaders, community, mental health and ambulance trusts continue to meet the biggest health challenge for a generation.
