Lewis Borg-Cardona (BH 1973-77) works with Patrick Woodroffe (PR 1967-68)
Lewis Borg-Cardona (BH 1973-77) sent us in details of his latest podcast along with the tale of the Marlburian Club’s pivotal role in causing it to happen.
He explains, “I’m always happy to share details of radio/podcast programmes I’m working on, but on this occasion I feel it’s actually an obligation to do so: seeing as the idea for the show was actually made possible via The Marlburian Club!
It was at the Lambeth Palace Marlburian Club summer drinks party of May 2019 that I had an enjoyable chat with Patrick Woodroffe OBE RDI (PR 1967-68), who was good enough to hand me his card as we parted. That meeting, facilitated as it was by the OM Club, planted the germ of the idea that Patrick might be an ideal subject for the ‘In The Studio’ arts strand of the BBC World Service.
So it was that I first pitched the idea to the BBC in 2019. Two years later that idea has come to fruition in a programme that airs on the BBC World Service on Tuesday 2nd February.
The programme itself is entitled ‘Patrick Woodroffe: Lighting the stars’. Once it is broadcast, then it will be available on the ‘In The Studio’ website, and an extended podcast version of the show will also become available on the website.”
