Richard Willmett (CR 2014-) Raising Funds for Local School
Richard Willmett (CR 2014-), scorer for many a Blues Cricket match, has set up a Go Fund Me Page to help provide full and continuing educational provision for all pupils, regardless of their economic status, throughout the pandemic and beyond.
He recently discovered that Pewsey Vale School is in need of a further 17 laptops to ensure that all of their pupils would have access to remote learning, no matter what happens over the course of the next few months.
There is perhaps an assumption that a school like Pewsey Vale, in a relatively affluent part of the country, would have no trouble in providing remote learning for its pupils in the event of year groups being sent home. Sadly, this is not the case.
Richard says ‘If you are thinking about making a charitable donation this Christmas to help ease the difficulties faced by so many thanks to the pandemic, perhaps you might think about contributing to a fund I have set up to help provide IT equipment to Pewsey Vale School and other local schools should the fund raise more than needed for this?
I have recently come into a little extra unexpected cash, for my first published cricket writing, and decided to turn that into a new laptop. The Master has very generously agreed to assist by providing a good number of iPads too.
It would be wonderful if we could help bridge the gap between current capability and current need and, if you would like to contribute anything at all, then please click here.
Thank you for considering the idea – and thank you too to any of you who donate – it will be greatly appreciated by all at Pewsey Vale.
