Ben Spink (SU 2015-20) Fundraising Effort Recognised

Ben Spink (SU 2015-20) received a shirt signed by Sir Andrew Strauss at Sunday’s cricket match v Sherborne.

Spink’s #run100toraise100 charity initiative during lockdown raised £5,522.16 for NHS Together, Ruth Strauss Foundation & Cricket Without Boundaries.
Ben is pictured here with Charlie Harrison, Housemaster of Summerfield, who made the presentation. It was a productive afternoon for Ben, who scored 99 during the XI’s 82 run victory over visitors Sherborne.

Master in Charge of Cricket, Mike Bush (TU 1993-98), commented: “Sunday was a fitting way to say farewell to our 2020 leavers after the disappointment of last term. We were blessed with the weather and the atmosphere up at the XI was very special.

“It was a bittersweet innings for Ben, but he bowed out in style after a stellar sporting career at the College. To receive the shirt was a just reward for his initiative and determination to contribute in a positive way during lockdown.”
