Mike Orange (PR 1986-91) wins Innovation award
It has been a good year for Mike Orange (PR 1986-91), Head of Business Development and Head of Engineering at Cecence. They recently won the Innovations in Composite Design Industry Award 2019. The ceremony was held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, which Mike attended along with Holly Scott-Donaldson (MO 1989-91), Head of Sales and Marketing at Cecence, and James Meredith (B2 1988-93), who heads up the OM Engineering Professional Group.
Mike says, “the award rounds off a good year for us, this was recognition from the UK’s trade body for Composites – Composites UK. Earlier in the year we won a JEC Innovation Award too. The JEC Composites show is the world’s largest composite show – held every March in Paris. Of the 11 awards presented this year – we were the only UK winner!”
Cecene was formed by Mike and 2 others at the start of 2014 to harness their skills as independent composite engineers and innovators who had worked together on projects over the late decade. They are specialists in innovation, design and problem solving, designing and manufacturing products for composite interior parts for the Aerospace, Defence and Rail Industries.
