Remembrance: The Never Ending Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission
A lecture by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence KCVO CB ADC(P)
Celebration of the anniversary of the Memorial Hall’s re-opening on 11th November at 7.30pm
The official re-opening of Marlborough College’s iconic building, the Memorial Hall, was on the eve the Armistice last November. To mark the first anniversary of the re-opening and celebrate the lives of the 749 Old Marlburians to whom the Hall is dedicated, Marlborough College are delighted that Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence KCVO CB ADC(P) will deliver a lecture on the subject of Remembrance: The Never Ending Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, for whom he was the Vice Chair until earlier this year. If you would like to attend please contact Fiona Cottrill by email fcottrill@marlboroughcollege.org or on 01672 892382.
The Hall was closed for 12 months for a £6m restoration and upgrade of its performing facilities and is now a state of the art music centre, as well as wonderful memorial to those who lost their lives in WW1 and subsequent conflicts.
The lecture will take place on Monday 11th November at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall
