OM Women’s Networking Event

Marlburian Club Women’s Network
Tuesday 26th November
Google, London
6.30pm

The OM Women’s Networking event will take place on Tuesday 26th November at Google’s offices at Six St Pancras Square, N1C 4AG, London from 6.30pm – 9.00pm.

The theme of the evening is ‘New Ways of Working’ which is inspired by an article of the same title, that was published in the Sunday Times last summer. You can read the article here.

We will talk about how the glossy portrayal of successful working women often does not reflect the realities we face. We hope to open a space where we can talk openly, share ideas and support one another through these, not insurmountable, challenges. We will look into new ways of working, flexible role sharing at work and home, transitional change support at work, the 3:2 working from home plan, creating passive income streams and even taking longer holidays!

We have put together a panel who will each speak about their own experiences and we will open the floor up for discussion to learn from others in the room, offering guidance and help where we can.

The panel will be led by Lara Cowan: (MO 1992-1997)
Property business entrepreneur, COO at Propelle Network and Founder of Grenadine Escape

The panellists:
Emily Brooke MBE (TU 2002-04)Inventor, Industrial Designer, and Entrepreneur known for having developed the Beryl (formerly Blaze) Laserlights used for Santander Cycles (the London bike rental scheme).

Jo Iddon (SU 1987-89)
Cognitive Behavioural Neuropsychologist, Author, Poet, Media Consultant to The Football Association & Kantar Consulting

Catherine Stewart (LI 1974-1976)
CoConvenor at CCI European Government Relations Round Table

Polly Rathbone (EL 1991-96)
Director / HR Consultant, Rathbone HR Solutions, Mentor, Founder of Bath HR network

This will be followed by drinks, snacks and a chance to network with both new and familiar faces.
