Growth of The Marlburian Club

The Marlburian Club continues to grow in many areas. A number of year-groups have enjoyed an expanded programme of reunions for five, 25, 30, 40 and 50 years and we look forward to House reunions for Summerfield and Elmhurst in June and September. OMs have also found MC Global Connect a useful way to keep up the connections after the reunion.

The diversity of the Professional Groups are galvanising many OMs to come along for discussions and to network with other OMs in the sector. We had very positive feedback from OMs who have created successful mentoring partnerships through meeting at an event. The launch of the Healthcare group at the Medical Society of London in February with special guests Hugh Pym (C1 1973-77) and Professor Sir Christopher Edwards (LI 1955-60) was a great success.

We have enlisted the help of a Common Room representative to increase awareness of the professional groups amongst the Sixth Form, encouraging them to find about career opportunities available in different industries and to talk to those within them.

Finally, if you have an area of expertise that you could share with other OMs, for instance, Wine Tasting, we would be happy to talk to you about creating an event.
