Suffragan Bishop of Dorking: Jo Wells

ARCHBISHOP of Canterbury’s chaplain, the Rev. Canon Jo Bailey Wells (B3 1981-83), will be the fifth bishop of Dorking in the Church of England’s Diocese of Guildford.

Wells, 50, studied at the University of Minnesota and from 2005 to 2013 was the director of the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies at Duke Divinity School in North Carolina.

She was Chaplain of Clare College, Cambridge from 1995 to 1998 and Dean from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2005 Jo served as a lecturer in Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.
